From ‘Eyesore’ to Restore

Neglected site in the London Borough of Lambeth to be developed into new homes

A derelict former milk depot in Rosendale Road, West Dulwich, London, is to be transformed into 23 apartments, including affordable homes, along with a new nursery, having gained approval at Lambeth Council’s committee meeting on Tuesday 9th May 2023.

The site, previously operated by Express Dairy, has been abandoned since the 1980s, having been subjected to squatters, graffiti, overgrown shrubs and fly-tipping.

The developer, Lipman Properties, proposed to preserve the locally Listed ‘arts and crafts’ frontage and, of the 23 new homes, five will be at the cheapest rents and two offered at shared ownership.

Associate Director at hgh Consulting, Alfie Yeatman said:

“Our client’s proposals will improve a local eyesore, delivering a significant improvement in the public realm. The new homes have been carefully designed to create exceptional quality of living accommodation, whilst the commercial space at ground floor level will provide the nursery that has been directly requested by the local community.”
